Jeanne's Story
As you can see, horses have always been in my life, now I make my living training people and the horses they love.
One of my favorite places we lived was Douglas, Wyoming. I went to elementary school there, from the 3rd thru the 6th grade.
I began Junior High at Laramie Junior High, attending Laramie Senior High thru my junior year when I transferred to University Prep. I graduated in 1970. Of course, I also attended the University of Wyoming, majoring in Communication. Wish I would have graduated, but left the end of my junior year. That is one regret.
1971, I married my first husband and we owned a ranch east of Douglas. I worked as Director Community Education for several years. Had two great daughter, Kimberly and Kassidy. Unfortunately that marriage didn't work so well, and was divorced in 1983.
In 1985, I moved to Oklahoma at the request of a friend who is now my husband and business partner. I worked as a Library Director for almost 15 y...Expand for more
ears and was laid off in August 2003. I thought there was no time the present to pursue my lifelong dream to train professionally. I was laid off on Friday. Saturday I began calling clients who wanted me to ride and show there horses. The barn was full my Monday and I've never looked back. I own Jeanne Dial Performance Horses. I have to pinch myself periodically to make sure this is all real. I get to do every day, what I love to do. Everyone should be so fortunate. There are long hours and sometimes endless days. I'm blessed. You can find me on the web at jeannedial.com
I'm looking forward to coming to our 40th class reunion in 2010 and seeing all my friend from years gone by. I hope everyone from Prep will come.
I may be in Oklahoma, and I love it here, but in my soul, I'll always be from Wyoming.
I want this as my epitaph: "She never shook the stars from their appointed courses; she loved good men and she rode good horses." ~ Margot Liberty
