Jeanne's Story

College West Virginia Career College 1987 - 1988 LPN School 1993 - 1994 West Virginia Career College was OK to attend... alot of walking from the parking lot and up and down stairs too. The teachers were OK... they didn't find me a job, although they advertised that they did... LPN School..was great.. I learned alot and loved "most" of the teachers.. It was a great experience for me and helped me out when my parents got ill. Workplace After I attended Medical Assisting Classes at Vo-Tech...I also attended a Medical Assisting Course at West Virginia Career College and graduated in 1988. I worked at Health First Medical Center, then I had a few other jobs. I also had worked in Nursing Homes and Personal Care Homes. I then attended LPN School at Fayette County Vocational Technical School. I graduated there in 1994. I now work for Fayette County ARC..which I have a job now working with the mentally challenged...(How about that..now I get paid for it) I really love this job and doubt if I will ever work anywhere else..not unless I find one with a better pay... Military I did not attend the Military. Hobbies My favorite hobby is riding my motorcycle.. I usually ride alone but it's nice when someone rides along.... on the back of my bike or riding beside me on their own. I also like helping the grandkids with their projects from school or their activities that they belong. One grandson is in the band, the other is in Cub Scouts, so there is alot of participation in my part...Expand for more
. Interests I love being with my family. We usually see each other every day.. I am now helping to raise a couple of children that belongs to an old friends daughter.. They are beautiful and I love them very much.. The little girl has been around since she was three weeks old.. her name is Erica. The little boy has ben around since he was two months old...his name is Shawn. They are now the biggest part of my life. These next statements are ideas from classmates (pretty cool ideas too) I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. When i get stressed out.....I go for a ride and maybe go to the park and look at the lake.... The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Mom and Dad, because I miss them so much..... If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my kitchen and bath and add on a bathroom.. My dream home would be an old victorian house.. If I won $100 million, I'd give 1 million of it to a great charity (cancer cure), then spend the rest on a new home, kids a new home and save the rest.. My current age is 54. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old cronies.. I was so completely right...LOL. In 10 years, I hope to be alive and well. I'm going to get there by trying to take care of myself.. My first job was at Fick's Bowling Lanes, where I got paid $1.00/hr and tips. What I remember most about it is worked long hours....( i was only 14 )
