Well, let's see. After high school I went off to college in Colorado and ended up spending 10 years there. I've spent the last 26 years in Wisconsin raising a family, going to school and working at the University of Wisconsin. I've got three daughters (ages 27, 25, and almost 21!), none with children or husbands. They keep me crazy and sane, all at the same time! I am newly single and finding it to be a very strange experience after being with one person for 31 years. But there are lots of things to do, places to go, and people to see. My oldest daughter and I are best friends and my youngest still needs her mom (yay!) Singledom has created new bonds with my middle daughter, besides our annual triathlon. I bike to work, kayak, ski, and (sometimes) run. I love to be "domestic" and I like to travel. (As a family we managed to go on 4 sabbatical leaves each for a year: Denmark, Australia, The Netherlands, and Chile.) My new adventure is building houses with Habitat for Humanity. My first build was in Papua New Guinea last spring and I'm leading a trip to Zambia next August (2010), if anyone wants to come along! :) That's my life in a nutshell.
