of Representatives to (3) four-year terms on a federal health care advisory committee. My committee recommended policies and standards for electronic health records, electronic prescribing, and the Nationwide Health Information Network. Virtually all recommendations have been adopted by health care agencies within the federal government and now they are included in the federal requirements for hospitals and medical practices to receive incentive funds as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the stimulus package).
