I can't believe it is 30 years since Buchholz. I came to Buchholz in the 11th grade, so I didn't get to know a lot of people but I enjoyed school. Out of HS I worked installing carpet, vinyl, & tile for a year before I started college. I worked through my sophomore year and had to quit when entering the school of engineering. When I got my BSME in '86 the job market was poor so I opted for Grad school with Dr Nevill in Aerospace/Eng Sciences Dept. Graduating in '88 I landed a job with Michelin Tire R&D (my only job since UF--20 years and kickin') in Greenville, SC. I love it here. I met my wife-to-be on 12 Mar 1989. Well, truth-be-told, I didn't actually talk to her until the 19th...but that's a long story. As soon as Lynne and I started talking, I knew she was someone special. We got engaged in Gainesville on 26Dec89 at my folks' home. (Remember the terrible ice storm which affected even Daytona Beach? I took us 2 days to get to Gainesville in the midst of that ice.) We got married in Greenville on 21Jul90. We have two awesome kids, ages 11 and 9, Zack and Danielle. We lived in France for almost 2 1/2 years '98-'01. That was a wonderfully enriching experience.
