Jeff's Story
Life
For the past 32 years I've had my own graphic design business, Jeff Fisher LogoMotives, primarily designing logos and corporate identities for businesses and organizations throughout the U.S. and around the world. My work is now featured in over 100 books on graphic design. For several years I have also been writing articles about the design business for magazines, my blog - bLog-oMotives - and Internet sites. My first book, "The Savvy Designer's Guide to Success," was released in December 2004 by HOW Design Books. A new book, "Identity Crisis!," hit the bookstores in November 2007. I am currently writing an new book, with the working title "Logo Type," to be released in 2010. A fourth book is already in the works. I also spend a great deal of time speaking about design at conferences, workshops and seminars around the country. In June 2010 I taught at a design and innovation college in Monterrey Mexico.

f the top 100 home-based businesses in the nation by StartupNation.com. The design industry publication Graphic Design USA recently named me one of their "People to Watch in 2009." My business has also be featured/mentioned in the magazines BusinessWeek, Fortune and Entrepreneur.
My partner of 20 years, Ed Cunningham, and I got legally married in Multnomah County in March 2004 - of course, now that has changed to domestic partnership status. Ed is the executive director for a law firm. Most of our spare time is spent traveling and we especially enjoy trips to Mexico, Italy and the Caribbean. Our hope is to soon be living in Hawaii half the year, and Portland the remainder, when we can get the logistics figured out.
Since high school I've always kept in touch with Kathy (Chapman) Middleton - we've been friends since we were 15 years old. It's been great bumping into other classmates on social networking sites such Facebook and elsewhere online.
