Jeff's Story

Life Well, I was supposed to rich and retired by now but it didn't pan out that way. After high school I wanted to become a robotics engineer and start Fraser Robotics, the American empire that brought automation to every household and made me grotesquely wealthy. Trigonometry proved too tough so gave up on the engineering idea. Here's the synopsis from there... Was busing tables at Sizzler while at Chaffey, dishwasher attacked me, punched him in the mouth, got fired. Took job selling memberships at health club (19 yrs old), made money guilt-tripping middle-aged overweight people into getting in shape. Went in with Rich Day (ALHS) and bought house together- particularly cool because we couldn't legally drink but nobody to tell us no in our own house. Sold everything, moved to Atlanta to start business. Major flop, lost everything, returned to CA broke and sleeping on mom's couch. Demoralized, decided to go back to school, become physical therapist, lied on my resume to get job as Physical Therapist Aide job at Pomona Valley Hospital. Did that for 6 years during which I reconnected with love of my life, Misty Beidleman, got married and had boy #1. Came to terms with the fact that physical therapy was a bit too routine for my personality, left hospital to work in SF Bay area in political role for a charity, got relocated twice in 3 months, frustrated, told management to screw off, took job with new telecom company, kicked ass, made money, got screwed out of commissions, left them for independent company for shot at entrepreurial start. Company acquired by another company with shady leadership, stock frozen, nose-dive, 9 months of pain before I bailed with a few others to start our own company. New Company. Had boy #2, great 1st year, then 1st casualty of 9/11; consulting business destroyed. Suffering insued. Focused on automating telecom processes, built telecom brokerage, had boy #3, made a little money, suffered m...Expand for more
ore, took some big knives in the back, decided to exit brokering and sell automation as software package. Sold first company, formed Salestream Software, Inc., signed first customer (while suffering), signed another, then another, and so on. Signed some of telecom's largest players within different market segments. Building business, hiring, still overworked and underpaid but trajectory is excellent. Striving toward full realization of achievement expressed by Hollywood's pre-eminant philosopher and hunter, E.J. Fudd: "My name is Elmer J. Fudd, millionaire, I own a mansion and a yacht." Hobbies include practicing Tae Kwon Do with my wife and 3 boys, watching Ultimate Fighting Championships, producing home movie DVDs, computer chess, Quake III Team Arena, and Captain (Morgan, not Sparrow)& Diets. No tattoos (saw too many wrinkled old illegible tattoos working at the hospital). Have one small dog, a Maltese named Murphy. I'm a registered Republican but much more libertarian than most. Like to read but don't do it often these days. Favorite books by category are: fiction- "Atlas Shrugged" (oldie but goodie), business- "Good to Great". Favorite author would be Creighton. Most of the movies I like are pugilistic and violent. "Fight Club" is definitely top 3, dug "Snatch" for similar reasons- great direction. I like high-concept movies generally- movies like Matrix, Abyss, Total Recall, Phenomenon, etc., more so than relationship centric stuff. Of course I must mention "Breakfast Club", "Wierd Science", and the lesser known- but freaking hilarious- "Three O'Clock High" remain favorites. Thank God for DVR- need I say more about that? Favorite stuff on TV: "I Shouldn't be Alive", "Future Weapons", "Myth Busters", and the entire genre of real-life CSI crime solving shows. Still like to pop in a DVD from the old Monty Python collection once in a while though- that's stuff that either cracks you don't have that gene.
