Jeff's Story
Life
Went to university in Sudbury for computer science. During that time, I became good friends with Todd Grainger... an EDSS grad who also went to university up there. He was a key person who led me into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ... something that I never had when I grew up in the Mennonite church. That has changed my life completely and since then I've seen several long-time friends enter into this same glorious change.
In Nov 2002 I got married and we had a beautiful baby boy in April 2004. He's so much fun. He loves to play hockey and he loves books!
Upon graduating from university, I got a job developing software for a company in Waterloo and was there until the summer of 2005. I left when a great opportunity arose for me to work from home... something that my former employer suggested would be possible many years ago, bu...Expand for more
t failed to follow through on. When it became possible to work from home, that also opened up the opportunity to live whereever I want. So we moved to a small northern town near Timmins to be near my mother-in-law who is in poor health. We sold my 1200sqft semi in Waterloo for significantly more than what we paid for a beautiful 2400 sqft house up here! So the winter may be harsh, but the housing is cheap and we don't have the annoying traffic of southern Ontario. now I'm sub-contracted by my friends in Sudbury to do custom work for large companies who seem to be stuck in the 1980's as far as their computer systems go. I'm loving it. But I may go to teachers college next year.
I do get out once in a while too... the most interesting place would be a toss-up between Turkey and New Zealand. Actually, Turkey was better, but I'd recommend either.
