Jeff's Story
Okay - a quick update.
I'm married to the loveliest woman in the world (and 10 years younger than me!), I retired from Generous Motors in December 2006 after 31 years there, and I am currently teaching college English in Oakland County.
While at GM I 'roughed it' right down on the assembly line for 28 years. I also spent 16 years as an alternate union rep and Suggestion Program coordinator. I spent the last 2+ years of my time at GM in an appointed role as an International UAW rep, working as a cost analyst in GM North America's Quality Network Suggestion Program hub office.
As I 'humped the line' I completed two undergraduate (B.A., Th.B) and two graduate degrees (both M.A.s) through full time night classes.
I also became a Christian in 1986 (or re-dedicated, depending on your theological nomenclature) and served as a licensed minister for twelve years (1988-2000) in various and sundry capacities both in a local church and as a state-level ...Expand for more

Since retiring I have published my second Master's thesis in the Winter 2006 edition of the University of Notre Dame's Journal of Religion and Literature. As mentioned above, I currently teach English at the college level; however, I have been accepted into Ph.D programs at Wayne State University and Michigan State University, and I may find myself at MSU in fall 2008. I am also awaiting news on other full time teaching posts for which I have applied.
I'm still a rabid music fan, extremely eclectic in taste and very good at finding records which have al but faded into the sunset - however, while I appreciate my past, I am by no means locked into it. In fact, most of my listening these days is of the very off the road electronic and indie varieties.
It's been 12 years, so here's a quick update. I have completely rejected religion and am a free-thinker/atheist advocate. This can change! So happy to be free from that thought-prison.
