Jeff's Story
I grew up in Richmond Hill, NY and lived on 108th street just 2 doors away from PS 90. And was still late almost every day!. I left PS 90 after 6th grade for Russell Sage JHS, in Forest Hills. I worked nights at Harry Kahn's deli on Jamaica Ave between 107th and 108th street. I was very involved with Boy Scouts at Troop 28 at St. John's Lutheran Church on 114th Street. I was graduated fron RHHS in 1971. Did a stint at bartending, working at McLaughlin's on Crossbay Blvd. Had some great times there, it was a family owned place and I was an honorary brother,lol. I learned a trade, and installed floor covering for several years. The family moved to Malverne, LI in 1972. In 1974, I joined Randel Lock Service, and own that business currently. Married Carol DiMino in 1977, and we have 3 daughters, Stefanie, Kimberly, and Kristen.
Life has been very busy. I own two businesses now located in Merrick, NY on Long Island. One is the Family Self Defense Center, Goshinkan Dojo. We teach personal protection classes and Ju-Jitsu style of martial arts. I am in contact with several of my classmates from the class of 1971, and hope that all of you are doing well. I am a Past President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores, and the Dojo was located in Bellmore for 23 years. I am a prostate cancer survivor, having been operated on in 2004. I attended the Lance Armstrong Summit in Texas, and am a cancer survivor advocate.
