Jeff's Story
It's been an amazing ride thus far!
Work has had me babysitting mainframe computers, servers and communication lines in Chicago for many years. It's hard to believe i get to retire from that in 2010! I had a stockbroker license for 15 years but didn't find that very creative. Very soon I get to segue into a career I've been preparing for over the last 20 years. My passion is writing, producing and directing films, music videos, etc.
My very first music video (Vampires Dance - The Dark Theater) aired some years ago on MTV. That was a thrill and you can find some of my work by searching my name on youtube. Don't get me confused with the Jeff Marsten karate expert out west... Not me! lol
I've directed a 30 minute dramatic film titled "Molly's Gift" which is about an 8yr old girl with terminal cancer. It was well received at film festivals. I've also completed two feature length screenplays, several tv pilot scripts and I'm currently working on screenplay #3.
In the fall of 2008 I go into preproduction on my first feature film from a script...Expand for more
i penned. An action/heist movie about stealing part of the Russian Treasury on tour at Chicago's Field Museum. It'll be shot here in Chicago in 2009 on the new RED camera. It's about time I got around to doing what I love!!!
I'm divorced and have two amazing daughters who live with me. Lindsey, born in 1992 is the tennis prodigy in the family. She's taken lessons since she was four years old and is on the varsity team at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. Amanda (now a Freshman at HF) was born in 1994 has focused on gymnastics and voice. They both want to act in my films... maybe after college and acting lessons!
I scuba dive, love out of the way tropical vacations (Belize, Honduras, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, etc) when I can get away. Been fortunate in terms of health and happiness! Life is way to short to waste time right?
Dad passed away a week before my 30th birthday but we still talk now and then... He was a real hero and to this day still the most honest man I've ever known.
I keep in touch with a few classmates. Feel free to say hi!
