Jeff's Story

I am still living in the Monterey area, though I bought a house in a small beach community just north of 'the big city' of Monterey (pop. 29,000). I still ride my bike to work at the Naval Postgraduate School where I am research faculty. It's a great job that leads to all kinds of fun and adventure. In 2008, I was chosen to go on an expedition to Antarctica to help run some underwater robots. Now, I am working with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences to preserve digital films. Still, 3D graphics is mostly what I do: visualizing underwater environments, cloud and weather models, and building giant screens to see it all. good of a time, so I will keep at it. When I am not working on a home improvement project, I'm probably at the beach with my dog, Maté. He's a fantastic border collie I rescued from some mean people up in San Jose. I'm still single, but I don't mind. Although my idea of an ideal date is still a 10 mile run, I just can't seem to convince anyone else that's a good idea. I imagine as soon as I least expect it, someone will come along. Many people don't think of High School as the best time in their lives, and frankly is probably wasn't (who wants to peak at 17?), but I think back to high school and college with great fondness. I had many wonderful friends and good times. Too many to list, really.
