Jeff's Story
Hi,
Too much has happened in the past 43 years. Went to Mizzou in '66, joined the Air Force in '67 and was a jet aircraft mechanic for four years. Married in '69. Had a daughter in '81, named Kit. She still lives in the Kirkwood area. I've been a full time slot machine mechanic since 1971 when I got out of the Air Force. Started three companies, SPEAKEASY ANTIQUES, ST. LOUIS SLOT MACHINE COMPANY, and TWO-BIT RESTORATIONS. I restore antique gambling equipment (slot machines) as a living for private collectors, museums and casinos. Visit my web site if you want to see some of my work, at twobitrestorations.com. Divorced in '94, then met the love of my life (another Kirkwood girl, Connie Wheeler, class of '77) and got married again later that same year. Moved away from Kirkwood in 1995. Moved north west of Fort Collins, Colorado and bought a 40 acre horse ranch up in the foot hills of the Rockies. Lived the cowboy life for a while. Adopted two boys, Josh in '99 and Tim in 2000. Reluctantly said "Good...Expand for more
Bye" to Colorado and moved to Prescott, Arizona in 2003 to take care of my mother. After she passed away our original plan was to move back to Colorado. But, as you all know, the real estate market has hurt us all and put our lives on hold. Even though we live in one of the most beautiful spots in the country with resort scenery and weather, nothing is selling out here. I guess if you have to be stuck somewhere, this is a great place to be stuck. Been on the market for nearly three years now, and have had a change of heart along the way. We hope to sell this place out here and move back to Kirkwood eventually.....family's all back there and it's time to come back home. My other passion is my Harley. I call it my "Time Machine"! When I ride, it feels like the clock has been turned back forty years! There's something to the saying, "Live to ride, ride to live"! It keeps me sane. When I bought it back in '07, the Harley Dealer gave me a T-Shirt that read, "Life Begins When You Get One"
They were right!
