Since graduating from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1995, I have been afforded many diverse opportunities in the practice of architecture.
From the first steps of the proposal process, with new or existing clients, the initial meetings to discuss expectations, to the research, design, and development of a proposed solution, moving forward to the coordination of contract documents, both within the office and with design consultants, to observing the process of construction.
My recent professional experience has been the completion of an ambitious façade rehabilitation for the world headquarters of Scholastic Inc., a cast iron and brick masonry structure completed in the early 1900’s, located in Soho. lient, addressing special needs and requirements. It was also necessary to be in conversation with consultants, environmental engineers and the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. This project was completed in 2007, and received a Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award in April of 2008.
In addition to this high profile project, my responsibilities have included forensic investigation, documentation, and report writing to address New York City Local Law 11 requirements and other building envelope conditions. This work has been performed for Solow Management Corporation, Swig Equities, and CB Richard Ellis, for example.
I have also worked in conjunction with the New York City School Construction Authority, performing Capital Improvement Projects for NY City Schools in al five boroughs.
Aside from duties related to architecture, I have been involved in the management and implementation of Office Document and AutoCAD standards.
While I try to maintain a diverse background in architecture, I am drawn to the construction aspect of things, the "nuts and bolts" of this profession. I would consider myself most fortunate if I make this my future career path.".
