Jeffrey's Story
After high school, I went to UA (Tuscaloosa) for two years and transferred to UAH to finish my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I graduated in '86 and went to work for a small company doing small projects for the Army for two years, then went to work for Teledyne Brown for 5 years on the PMIC (payload mission integration) contract. When laid off from TBE in '94, I picked up odd jobs until going to work for MicroCraft supporting Boeings Space Station work to finish the Lab Module cable and pipe routing. I have been working at Jacobs Technology Inc. since 1997, which holds the ESTS contract with MSFC. On this contract, I have worked on several tasks, both flight hardware and test hardware. esign of the second stage oxygen fuel tank for the Ares I rocket, and am currently the lead engineer for design of walkways and platforms in the MSFC dynamic test stand where the Ares I will be fully stacked within the building for a vibration test.
While here at MSFC (on the ESTS contract), I have run into Jeffrey Draper, Michelle Letson, Andrew Prince, and Davy Haynes from our HS graduating class.
In 1991, I married Nancy M. Boyett who graduated from Butler HS in 1988. We had our first child, Natalie, in 2000, then Caitlynn in 2002, and Logan in 2003.
My wife and I are very active in The Church of God of Prophecy on both a local and state level and are also staying very busy with the kids in softball and soccer.
