Jeffrey's Story
I should have created this prior to sending all those e-mails. So, a brief recap of the past many years. Off to Australia after college to teach special ed and travel Down Under and New Zealand. While there, learned to fly sailplanes (gliders) including some aerobatic maneuvers. While pursuing M.Ed., decided I preferred emergency healthcare, becoming a paramedic and eventually an RN. Have worked in the ED, Cath Lab, outpatient surgery, and most recently, behind the scenes as a trainer for the hospital electronic medical record. Gave up full time work, and now mostly enjoy racing small sailboats, more travel, and am in the process of building my second wood and fiberglass kayak. ar a return to the Caribbean for beautiful sailing around the BVI. Coming up in November is my third medical mission trip to Haiti, the first being a couple months after the devastating earthquake. Married happily since May, 1993.
It's now January 2020 and I see this is in need a little update. Trips to Haiti now at 5, and a third kayak in the works, a child-size for a nephew. If you have the chance, do a self-drivie tour around Iceland ! Be sure to include a short ferry ride to Vestmannaeyjar archipelago. And there's not a thing wrong with a float along the Rhine, from Amsterdam to Basel, with a last minute day trip to Lake Lucerne. I still work a couple of hours most weekday mornings to bring in some play money for more travel.
