Jeffrey's Story
Life
As many young boys do, Jeff tended to have a nose for mischief. But unlike most, his ended up helping him discover his ear for music. One day when he was seven, Jeff was sent to his sister's room for a "time out" and he stumbled across an abandoned mono record player. Next to the player, sat a box set of records that would change his life forever. As Jeff was supposed to be repenting for his earlier misdeed, he instead got into singing along with the infectious melody, rhythm and soul of the Jackson 5. From that day forward, the only punishment that really worked on Jeff was taking away his ability to play music.
That fateful day got Jeff his start in music. He started playing the drums and added the guitar and bass in the following years. But he discovered quickly that his best instrument would always be his voice. be closer to the action and the heart of the music industry and ended up in LA in the late 80's. Influenced by the sounds of 70's Motown and popular musicians of the time including Tom Petty, U2, John Hiatt and the Black Crows, he honed in on his unique sound and polished his vocal talents. He joined several bands, including the popular Orange County group "Somebody's Birthday". "Somebody's Birthday" played gigs all over the Southern California area including festivals, and were on the same bill as Duncan Shiek, The Rembrants and The Monkees.
In November of 1999, Jeff moved to North Carolina to work for Cisco Systems and quickly hooked up with the members of "Rich Emily". Jeff, and the members of "Rich Emily" are now working on showcasing their live talents through gigs in the Triangle area. Today The Rich Emily band is live and kicking with over 400 shows under their belt.
