Jeffrey's Story
Graduated Hicksville High School and went to Nassau CC for two years before transferring and graduating from Hofstra University. Accepted a position at JP Morgan and spent 26 years there working in several Operations Management functions. Spent the last 16 years in JP Morgan Securities before retiring in June 2006 for health reasons.
I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure in 1980, had bone cancer in left tibia in 1992, kidney failure and dialysis in 1998, leg amputated in November 1998, a kidney transplant in 2000 which failed in 2002 due to a rare form of pneumonia, dialysis until 2004 when I received second kidney transplant. I got married in 1985 and we moved to Massapequa in 1987. Had twin boys in 1998.
Involved with Long Island Transplant Recipients International Organization. On the Board of Directors and run a high school educational program on organ donation and transplantation. It's my way of honoring the families that donated their loved ones organs that saved my life.
When not doing high school talks, I spend my time at Bethpage Golf Course playing golf and enjoying life. I work there 2 days a week to help fund my golf habit.
Just received my third kidney transplant on Sunday, July 31, 2016. At home recovering and so far this kidney seems to be working great.
