Jeffrey's Story
Life
I am living in Sharon, Massachusetts now (in the Boston area). I have lived in the Boston area since 1989 when I began my graduate program of studies at Boston College. In 1998 I received a PhD in philosophy from BC. I teach philosophy at Suffolk University in Boston. My area is political philosophy. A few years ago I published a book in my field and am working on another one. The intellectual journey I began at MVHS has not ended. Life continues to be very exciting and fscinating for me. I am very grateful to teachers like John Cooper, Bruce Glenn, Bob Minier, Verge Hagopian, and Roberta Shelters for their inspiring teaching.
Since graduating from MVHS I lived and studied for 2 years in Europe. I received a BA from the University of Kansas and an MA from the University of Dallas. Tr...Expand for more
aveling is a passion of mine. I have been all over Europe and Latin America.
Like in my high school days, I remain politically active. However my views have changed considerably since that time. I have become more liberal over time. I worked for a conservative think tank in Washington and for conservative political causes for years. But I have broken with all that and have become more liberal in the way I see and relate to the world.
Life in New England is wonderful and really not much different from California, except for the weather. Like California, the atmosphere here is very cosmopolitan and there is so much to do and see. Autumn is spectacular here! I especially enjoy sailing during the summer off of Cape Cod. And you can't beat the seafood here. But I do miss California at times.
