Jeneal's Story
Hello All! Let's see, after high school, I went to business school and left home for Washington DC and a government job. Came back to Clarksburg for a bit, met and married my husband Bob (from Richmond, VA) who was on a submarine with Mike Barnes. Left WV and went to Virginia. Later Bob left the Navy to join the Army. I've traveled all over the world. I love learning, and got my undergraduate degree in Massachusetts, and my Master's in Arizona. Haven't quite figured out about my Ph.D. I was a Counterintelligence instructor for the US Army - a position I sincerely loved. I left my job with General Dynamics as my asthma got worse - doctors are trying to figure it out so I can get back to work. I'm still married to Bob, have one daughter, and two young grandsons. I love rock music with a splash of alternative thrown in. I love traveling - we're spending Thanksgiving at the Grand Canyon. I love books, my IPOD, and my "pink" laptop computer w/a Nightmare before Christmas skin on it. Well, today is Halloween, and I need to go carve a pumpkin or two. Ciao for now! WOW....an IPod....who knew....I think I’m on my 5th or 6th iPad - and yes, that is attached permanently to my body...although, it’s mostly for reading....I’m in a great Book Club that forces me to read books that I wouldn’t otherwise read - ones that don’t have elves and dragons and such....
Hello again. Time is quickly passing by - I wrote that a few years ago. Nothing much has changed except my husband and I just bought a vintage Airstream - nice and shiny. We've got several trips planned. Last year we went to the Bahamas, and this year "five of us - daughter and two grandsons" went on a 30 day trip to the East Coast (a lot of airplanes and rental cars) - it was wild. nd and I drove to California to see the Dalai Lama - it was absolutely amazing. We are "tired" and in need of some down time. But, like I said, we've got several trips in the works....I'll keep you posted.
WELL, here we are a few years after all THAT!!!! Still LOVE traveling…my husband and I drove across country for a few months, with our Airstream in 2019, before all the craziness and had a blast!!! We are planning another trip in 2022…We looked for diamonds in Arkansas and spent days in a creek in NC looking for emeralds and garnets and other gems - found a few. We went zip lining in VA - I loved every minute. This year when we weren’t hibernating, we were out in the “wilderness” rock hunting, climbing, and camping. At this moment, I am “down” - I had my foot reconstructed (surgery Jun 29, 21) rods, pins, screws, and fused bones…I had broken it a couple of years ago and it just didn’t heal correctly. I am “off of it” for about four months - sucks big time! I have another foot surgery and a shoulder surgery in my future but after that - I should be “good to go” or at least “bionic” - I have a thousand and one things I want to do, so I need to be “in good shape.” My brother insists I should use this down time to finish a book I had written and send it “out” - we’ll see….Although it seems “impossible,” I am already thinking of Christmas - I have decided to decorate in October as I have a friend coming to visit from WV, and several family members and friends visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday. I usually put up about 10 trees (not counting small ones) and lots of other decorations and frivolities….I do LOVE the holidays….I plan to make it an extravaganza this year ; ) Well, I don’t know if anyone will read this, but I thought I would just add a few more lines…
