Jennifer's Story
After high school, I went into the United States Navy for four years. I spent all four years on a ship called USS Merrimack AO-179 stationed out of Norfolk, Va. The first year I was in, I was stationed in Louisiania for about 15 months. Ate alot of crawfish, drank alot of beer and spent alot of time down at Bourben Street. After the Navy, I came back home and spent a few months hanging out with family and friends. I went to nursing school at the Vo-tech.
Met my husband while in downtown Meadville after work one night. He was driving a jacked-up Z71 Chevy. I liked big trucks and still do. We hung out for a few months before he asked me to be his "girl". After a few more months, found out we were having a baby and decided that we wanted to get married. After having my son Zackery, which was such a blessing, a few years later, we had our daughter Kayla, which was also a blessing. Being a wife and a mom is probably one of the hardest things I ever done and still doing. Times are so different now then when we were kids and growing up. n, I was capable of only staying home for the six weeks and then had to return to work. That was tough, especially taking my children to a daycare where I really didn't know the babysitters.
As of March 2008, I was able to quit working and stay home with my children, who are now 10 and 7. It's wonderful. We do so much together. And my husband likes me home too. At least now I can have dinner ready when he pulls into the driveway.
My husband's name is Scott and we've been married 10 1/2 years. Married on October 31 (halloween). He works for Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 47. He does alot of plumbing and pipefitting jobs, usually in Cranberry and Clarion. He does do some traveling.
I am excited about seeing everyone again. There are so many of us who still live locally, but never seem to run into each other or if we do, we don't recognize one another. Hopefully a few of us can still keep in contact through Classmates. com
Until we meet in August, God bless everyone and take care.
Hoping to get into contact with all my old classmates. Hope to see evryone at our class reunion.
