My Very Interesting Life-Changes:
I have undergone a lot of changes since high school (Note my picture and new first name- it used to be Robert!) I am a Family Practice doctor and also an Asst. Prof of Community Medicine at UCSF-Fresno and teach in the Fresno Family Practice Residency program. I moved back to CA in 2006 after living and practicing medicine in the Pacific NW for 20 years.
I am divorced and my two children are grown and are doing well. My son is graduating from U of O in June 2009 with a degree in Architecture and My daughter is married and works as a teacher in Seattle; I have no grandchildren yet.
I am a frequent speaker at Transgender conferences all over the nation and will be presenting a paper at the World Professional Association for Transgender Health's International Symposium in Oslo, Norway in June 2009. I have a Transgender Medicine practice in my clinic, as well as seeing my reg...Expand for more
ular Family Practice patients and delivering babies. I sing in my church choir, am on the Altar Ministry and lead a ladies' Bible study. I also am in a bowling league.
I have had a very interesting life with some quite radical changes, as you can imagine. Even as a young child I knew I was "different" but hid my secret from everyone until I was 51 and had raised my two children. Then I finally came to grips with my "true self" and started my (medical and surgical) transition from male to female, which I competed in 2004- And I have never been happier and more at one with myself, finally "comfortable in my own skin" as the female I have always been in my mind, heart and spirit.
