I live as a single woman in the house my parents bought over half a century ago (which doesn't seem so long ago, really!!). Found myself back there when my late husband and I inherited it, and rather then sell it, we remodeled it. It is truly home, and my refuge. Right now a girl friend rents the upstairs of the house until she can find a place of her own, so she and I share it with my two cats. My son and his wife live in Colorado - too far away, but we get together a couple times a year at least. Adore the both of them and wish they weren't so far away. Once they present me with grandchildren it's going to be harder, but for now, we manage. I'm the Parish Administrator (read office manager) of an Episcopal Church in Alexandria, and an active member of my own Episcopal Church in Burke.
