Jennifer's Story
I¿m currently divorced, the mom of 12 year-old, Tiana and a class member of 1974. It¿s hard to believe that it¿s been 34 years. In hindsight, life in 1974 was sublime. My mother was well (she now suffers from Alzheimer¿s), there was no ¿911¿ and my responsibilities were minimal.
Unlike many of my classmates, by my senior year I was not sure of my career goals. So after graduation I found employment as a posting clerk at The American Kennel Club. A few years later, I enrolled at N.Y.U. and by commencement with still not clear on my career prospects. Subsequently, I took an extended tour through the provinces of ¿Corporate America¿. Translation: I¿ve had many jobs.
As a kid, growing up I the South Bronx, I was always fascinated with the magic of making movies. And in 1994, after several unsatisfying jobs I wrote, produced and...Expand for more
directed my first short film, ¿Two Paychecks Away¿. I¿ve since produced a number of short films and I¿m currently in pre-production with my first independent feature. It seems that self-discovery comes slow to some people.
On the downside, we are in the process of placing my mother in a nursing home. We have tried caring for her at home, but it¿s become too difficult manage. My mother, Margaret, was such a gracious soul. It¿s painful to watch her digress into a shadow of her former self. Be that as it may, I¿m so grateful for the good times that we shared. Such is life.
All in all, I¿m doing well At 51 years young. Please feel free to drop me line (even if you didn¿t graduate from my class). It¿s nice communicating with people who are over 40. I hope that life has been kind to you over the years. All the best to you.
