Jennifer's Story
My husband, children and I moved from St Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Kodiak, Alaska in May 2006. The opportunity came up and we thought it would be a great experience for our kids. Boy were we right! to stock our freezers full of salmon during the run in late May to the end of August. We also go halibut fishing. As they say around here, "we eat like poor Alaskans" with all of the fish and crabs. The weather in our region is mild. Our summers average in the 60's, and our winters in the 30's.
The kids love it here, and so do we. We have no intentions of leaving any time soon.
