Jennifer's Story
Well, let's see after high school graduation I moved out on own w/ some friends & dated a few people here & there. Danny & I have mutual friends from school but never knew each other until his best friend Thomas & his now wife Jeni set us up on a blind date, double date. I went home that night & told my mom I was going to marry him & of course she thought I was crazy but I was right :)
Danny was in the Marines when I met him & he was stationed at Camp Pendelton, CA & I was in OK so we had a long distance relationship for over a year & decided we didn't want to wait til he got out to get married so we set the date & planned a beautiful wedding in 2 months. It was a great wedding but don't recommend that sort planning to anyone, lol.
Danny & I got married in Sept 1996 & he was gone the first 7 months of our marriage on ship w/ the Marines & Navy. We lived in OK boucing around between places back then & my husband went into the Army Reserves then he decided to go back active duty (but this time...Expand for more
in the Army) and now he is an Apache (helicopter) Maintenance Test Pilot so we travel a lot. Danny was in Iraq in 2005 & 2008. He got back from Iraq the second time at end of 2009 and has been to Afghanistan twice while at Fort Drum, NY & now he is deployed to Afghanistan again. This is his seventh deployment, but fifth in the Army. We currently live at Fort Campbell, KY.
We still own our house in GA which is currently being rented. We enjoyed NY and we were there for 5 years so we got pretty comfortable there. We moved in Dec 2014 to Fort Campbell, KY, which is where we currently live.
Our baby girl, Sarah Jolisa Rook, was born Sept 2006. She is a typical child but a good kid and we hope to have more kids later so she will have siblings.
I'm a nurse but currently a stay-at-home mommy continuing my education and focusing on family time.
