Life
Guess I'm a bit different from the rebel teen who skipped out of classes to hang out at "The Nugget", drinking coffee etc. with my friend Sandy. Admittedly, that lifestyle didn't award me a P.H.D. in rocket science. (No, although our oldest son does work at N.A.S.A.) But hey, I've come a long way. Married my musician boyfriend Tom Cote at age seventeen, which caused some parental dismay at the time. But over thirty years later, it's a good, solid marriage, with two sons and two grandkids as well. It's awesome!
Life took its turns, leading me to start a vegetarian burrito business with a friend here in California in the eighties. I was working out of my home kitchen, delivering wholesale burritos to local health food stores. The business kept expanding; the friend moved on but husband Tom quit his job to help me out. One of my redeeming qualities with the Rochester High teachers was my apparent ability to write. Despite my lack of effort, I did manage to graduate a year early, using any innate talent in the word department to woo those teachers into passing me. Ah yes, those were the days. Not that it was a good thing to graduate with minimum effort. But it was convenient for me, as I so quickly moved on from, "Jenny Klees, High School Graduate", to, "Mrs. Jennifer Cote" all in the same year. I might've missed out on graduating if I'd waited any longer, as I was so easily distracted. They call that ADD now, hey?
Guess a lot happens to a person in thirty-plus years. I'm sure none of my high school buddies would've expected me to come to this! I'm a fifty year-old born-again Christian with my own sandwich shop, and a cookbook published, From the Land of Milk and Honey. Totally into family and health, living a good life... Seems this is enough for now!
