Jennifer's Story
Life
At one point I feel like I had everything I could have wanted. A husband who was like my best friend and a job which was more like a family then going to work.
I will start with the latter. I am a Registered Nurse, specializing in Emergency Medicine. It is a place where I can be strong and quick thinking. And most days I feel like I have made a difference in someones life. Where else can you help to bring someone into this world and watch someone die all in the same day. Now as for my husband, that is another story. We were married in 2000. Things seemed like everyhting was on mark. Until one evening when I was not able to find him. And reality of death and grief became a hurdle which I have been tackling since January of 2004. My husband was killed in an accident. Helplessness and hopelessness seemed to be a large part of my existence.
Now nearing the end of 2006, things truly seem to be looking up. I am still working in an ER and I have found someone who can accept all the ups and downs and the baggage that comes with me.
