Jennifer's Story
Life
I can't believe it's been 15 years! Holy cow. What have I been up to... Greg and I married September 28, 1991. We just celebrated our 15 year anniversary in Big Sky, Montana.
Shortly after we married we moved to Utah. We've been here ever since. Greg has worked for the same company, Nu Skin International, for the entire time. He's part of the IT Department and loves his job. He works with some great people, and the company has been really good to him.
Most of his family is from around here. We now live in Pleasant Grove. His Mom and Dad go between here and Yellowstone - where they have a cabin. The rest of his immediate family are here though.
My folks still live in Arlington - in the same house as when I was in school. They'll probably be selling it in the next year or two since they are nearing retirement.
My little guy, Dakota, and I go up to Washington at least a couple times a year. Cami Vernal and I have kept in good contact over the years, so we usually get together, but I've been awful at keeping in touch with everyone else. The time just goes by so quickly, and everyone has moved on. I'm hoping this way I can get updated addresses, email addresses, etc. with everyone to see how people are doing.
When Greg and I first married I worked at Nu Skin too. From there I went to Franklin Covey and worked first in their Marketing Department and then transfered over to Sales. The last couple of years I spent in their International Sales Department. That was fun. I lived in England for around 6 months, but going back and forth to see Greg got old. He chose to stay here while I was abroad.
For the last seven years I've worked with Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks, and Paper Crafts magazines. That's been really fun. Personally, I love crafting, so it's been neat to work in an industry I enjoy. Now I'm focusing specifica...Expand for more
lly on Simple Scrapbooks magazine. I'm an Independent Contractor, so I actually work out of my home. I wouldn't have it any other way. Now that Greg and I have Dakota, I love being home with him.
Probably my greatest accomplishment is being a mom. I absolutely live for Dakota. He is everything to me. I would have thought that we'd have more children by now, but perhaps that's just not in the cards for us. We've tried. I'm just enjoying every day I have with my little guy - savoring his childhood.
For fun Greg and I love to travel, ski, 4-wheel, and golf. I recently took up golf. My folks both golf a ton now, and my husband is an awesome golfer, so I really felt the pressure. The last trip to Hawaii I realized I needed to get with it when I got stuck at the hotel while they all went golfing. Now I'm hoping next time I'll be able to join them. Dakota is quite the golfer too. He has a natural swing. This next summer I'll put him in a clinic to work on it.
I'm super involved with my neighborhood, church, and Dakota's school - almost too involved. There's something to be said about keeping up with the Jones. Everyone around here is out of control overcommitted - me included.
I think that actually brings me current. I'd love to hear from you! I've missed so many of my old friends. I hope you are all doing well. I'd love to reconnect so that next time I'm up there we can get together. We'll be coming up for Christmas and New Years (just an fyi). Hope to hear from and see you soon!
Workplace
I've been in ad sales now going on 8 years. I absolutely love it. I'm an independent contractor, but I've worked with a select group of magazines since I started. I love working from home, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I enjoy being home when Dakota gets home from school. Then he and I can go play. The money is good, and it keeps me busy!
