Jennifer's Story
After a scholastic life spent almost entirely in Iowa City, Iowa (we moved there when I was almost five) at Longfellow Elementary, Central Junior High, Southeast Junior High (this last after Central was grievously closed down) and Iowa City High School (you'd think by the name that it was the only high school in town, though it wasn't, as those who attended West and Regina will tell you), I spent a couple of years in Ames at ISU (Graphic Arts) and then went back to Iowa City and the U. of Iowa (Art and Art History) , after which I took off to study in Austria and then in Hungary, a move which has taken me since to a number of countries and in a few different - but similar - directions. These days, it seems I've pretty much settled in Strasbourg, France, where I illustrate and do graphic work and play and hang out with my husband, Jean-Philippe, and our twins, Tomi and Leo.
Before arriving back here, though, I spent months and years studying, working and generally living in places such ...Expand for more
as Vienna, Austria; in Pécs, Hungary; in Strasbourg; in Budapest (a part of the time I spent in this city being thanks to a Fulbright I received, in order to do work on a favourite artist and time period and political grouping of thoughts of mine); and in Glasgow.
There was a kind of logic to all of the above, though it may not be very evident. In any case, it's led me back to Strasbourg, and to doing what I now do and with whom I do it.
My husband and I love to travel, a passtime we started to share with our boys when they were barely more than just born (28 Nov 2003). We also enjoy the cinema, many kinds of music, theatre and hiking (alot of which we do in wine country, from vineyard to vineyard), and of course all of the people - friends and family - that we do/enjoy these things with.
