Jera's Story

Life I met Michael in college at The University of Wyoming. We were introduced by my brother Ryan. I had a life changing event in college and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I feel blessed that I was able to find this particular direction in my life. Mike came into my life two years after joining the church. We were married in The Denver L.D.S. Temple in June of 1998. We finished our undergraduates together and soon moved to Boise, Idaho. We were there one year while Mike finished his practicum. We then moved to Loveland, Colorado. We have been teaching here for 10 years. Mike and I finished our masters programs from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. I was unable to attend the 10th high school reunion because I was in delivery with my son Joshua. He is now six. There are times when I look in on him and think about how lucky I am that he is in my life. He is such a smart little guy. He loves dinosaurs, dirt, trucks, fish, and building with legos. He has recently told us that he is going to be a firefighter, a football player, and a builder. He loves Darth Vader and enjoys riding his Spiderman scooter any time he gets a chance. We were also blessed by the arrival of our twin girls February 7, 2005. Their names are MaRynne Elise and MiKayla Eileen. They are now almost four years old. They are such a fun addition to our family. We recently acquired a little fuzzy edition to the family...Cookie! A Schnoodle! (Schnauzer/Poodle). So much fun! School Finished school at East High School and immediately attended the University of Wyoming in the fall of 1992. I completed my degree by finishing with my student teaching back at East High school with Judy Harmon (the best mentor-teacher ever!!) I then wen...Expand for more
t on to taking classes at Boise State University, Colorado State University, and The University of Northern Colorado. I received my Masters degree in Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. I continue to add credits for recertification purposes. College Attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with a degree in Education. I took graduate classes at Boise State University, Colorado State University, and the University of Northern Colorado. I graduated from Lesley University with a Masters of Education-emphasis in Creative Arts and Instruction. I am looking forward to pursuing an endorsement towards educational administration. Workplace I love teaching music! I love living in Colorado! And I love my family! I teach Music K-5. I also have a private studio. Who I hope to hear from?!?! I hope to reconnect with #1 important Tricia Seltrecht. She was absolutely the bestest friend any little girl could have possibly had growing up! Wish I had stayed true and connected. #2- Rachel Nelson...possibly the neatest person (and most talented) person anyone could have come in contact with at East High School during 1991. #3- Leslie Cornick...fun friend in elementary, junior high, and high school. #4- Mark Schultz...what ever happened to him? I know his dad still lives in Buffalo Ridge area. I think he is somewhere in Denver?!?! Life is too short!?!?! Ok...so I'm wandering around in a corn field last August in Weld County (for my church) and low and behold...here's this girl I remember from the marching band at East High. Leslie right? Ok, so I ask, "How's your brother?" Remembering that he was also in school at the same time. Bryan was his name. He too graduated around '92. So she says..."Bryan passed away!" Life is truly too short.
