Jeremy's Story

So, I'm revamping my story with maybe a little more zest. As most of you know, I became involved in the fire service our sophemore year, and it continues to this day. I was with Moorefield Twp. until June 2002 and was one of the charter members of the paid day program in 1993. During that time, I worked for other departments as well, Bethel Twp, Harrison Twp, Huber Heights Fire Division, and even worked as a paramedic in Florida twice before returning to Ohio. From 1990-1994, I worked at both hospitals. I now work full time for Delaware County EMS, and part time at Pleasant Twp Fire Dept. in Clark County. I also take 3 months on-call for OH-5 Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) which is through the Department of Health and Human Services. (yes, we do hurricane response) Those friends who I got in the county fair for free back in the day? Well, I now work for my step dad seasonally in the electrician's department. I've also become a OHSAA certfied baseball umpire. In between all of that, I still find time to work out 4-5 times/wk. In 1999 at the age of 28, I went through some sort of identity crisis. Not only did I get my ear pierced, I received my first tattoo. Now with my left ear pierced 6 times, and 9 tattoos later, I'm running out of tattoo space that can be conceiled by my uniform. Remember the long hair? Gone. Since 1991, I get my hair buzzed down every 2 wks. My true friends will remember my love for writing poetry and short stories. In the early 90's, I wrote a novel which chronicled our groups lives then and now. In 2000 I finally got a piece of poetry published in a book entitled "Voices On The Web", the piece is called "Departed". I've had a letter or two published in EMS Magazine, and have found success publishing articles regarding a sport I began to follow circa 1996, NASCAR, appearing on Jayski.com and RaceTalkRadio.com. I am a columnist for a small Yahoo! Group...Expand for more
"Stock Car Racing Online" and most of my articles are chronicled on another automobile site "CarsandRacingStuff.com". So yes, I'm a suburban redneck I guess lol. However, I don't look the part :) I've been to several races and have met many drivers. I finally married at the age of 33, and became a step father to three kids, two of which are nearly grown. I have no children of my own. Most of the friends I had then, I still keep in touch with now, however, I would REALLY like to re-connect with all of my "freshman buddies" from when I was a senior. Seems like the class of '92 are too stuck up lol...I also welcome contact from anyone that remembers me. I know many of you remember me as the one that was so serious throughout high school, maybe a little TOO level-headed for our time. Rest assured, I made up for lost time! I have turned my basement here in Northridge into a racing style pub complete with autograph displays, etc. I also home brew which I know will make a lot of you fall out of your seats, considering I was a wine cooler person in high school...oh wait, we were too young to drink, I wasn't drinking lol. Anyway, some of you will remember my grand parents living next door. That's the house we live in now. My grandfather died when we were freshmen, and my grandmother passed away in December 2003. Therefore that means mom and Art are next door (which can be both a pain in the ass and a convenience at times). Speaking of Art, he retired from Ohio Edison officially in June 2008 after a bout with mantle cell lymphoma. Mom is still mom. She has custody of my wiener dog, Johnson (only I would name my dog that) with her other wiener dog Spanky. We have a pug/Boston terrior mix, Fancy. Cody is a Springfield Police officer and lives on the other side of Northridge with his two wiener dogs Macy and Suzi-Q. If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to add it! Thanks for stopping by!
