Jeri L.'s Story
Life
Here ya go. If your looking at this hopefully I know you in some way or knew you. Here is a little bit about who I am and what I am doing today.
I've come a long way from the life I knew and lived while in Arkansas and Chicago.
I've been faithfully married to my husband Lynn since 1988.
We have four wonderful children to whom teach us about life as we teach them.
I've over come many obsticals that were in my path from my childhood experiences. I am greatfull for all my struggles that lead to me to success.
Hobby:
Genealogy has been a big part of my life. I have been searching for original documents on my ancestors and composing a family history. In some of my family lines I have been able to go back several generations with the help of other family members (thank you). I have learned many things about my family and their past and enjoy finding new little tid bits when I can. Here is a list of sur names that are in my family lines. McFall, Hicks, Wilkins, Wainwright, Huffines, Simmons, Sims, Brandon, Adrahtas, Sumner, Lisk, Thiele, Anderson, Reed, Ward, Brown, Hudson, Merrell, McCoy, Morris, McMillon, Robinson, Rodgers, Todisman, Zaugg.
School
I owned and Operated a licensed Child-Care facility between 1992-1999. I took many classes and courses on early childhood development, parenting, budgeting, management, health awareness, and other subjects.. I've taught p...Expand for more
reschool with my daycare and also started up a co-op preschool parent group, and play group. I enjoy reading to gain knowledge.
My husband and I also enjoy taking classes throughout the community, such as, marriage enrichment, dance, budgeting, etc... to continue to grow.
Workplace
I currently am a stay at home mom. I volunteer in my child's school and volunteer tutor math at a near by school.
2005-2006 I served as one of four chairmen for my kids school to help pass a 94 million dollar school bond. It passed on March 20th, 2006. We needed 66% yes votes for it to pass and we got 70.45%. Not to bad for a group of volunteers!!! Now my kiddo's will be getting new schools where the current ones are, and many other schools in the district will be getting much needed improvements and additions.
I currently serve as the volunteer coordinator for my children's elementary school. I also help out in classrooms by coping papers for teachers or reading with students. I also tutor math to 4th graders at a differnt neighborhood school. I am looking forward to the day I can use my volunteer skills to enter the work force. Where I can get paid for my time, and to be able to continue to be a volunteer.
My husband supports me and the kids by working hard at his job. He is a Operations Manager. I am very greatfull for the life style he has been able to provide for us.
Keep in touch. O.K.
