Jeri's Story

After graduation from Jefferson I went on to Willamette University where I got my degree in English Literature in 1984. In '87 I moved to Seattle, got a job and got married. In '92 I turned 30, was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, got laid off and found another job with better health insurance. I still work in the same place, the radiology records department of a major HMO, though my job has changed as we moved from film to digital imaging. I'm happy to note that my Crohn's has been pretty well behaved--I just have to take a boatload ...Expand for more
of pills. In '98-99 I got unmarried (tragic at the time). In 2000 I married the sort of person I should have married in the first place and life since has been getting better and better. I'm back to choral singing--in my church's Chancel choir and in a women's choir called Mirinesse. I love to travel and feel deprived if I don't get at least one big trip a year. I never had children (just cats), but I'm very proud of my niece and five nephews. People say I seem happier and more contented than they've ever seen me, and they're right!
