Life After Ballard I graduated from Everett Junior College and then transferred to the University of Washington School of Art. My major was Art with a secondary degree in Education. I had to work through college so I went to school at night some of the time. I graduated with my BA in 1974 with a teaching certificate for K-12. I finished my 5th year teaching degree in 1981 and my Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Seattle Pacific University in 1992. I taught gifted/talented K-8 education for 28 years. My first teaching position was in New South Wales, Australia for 2 years. I did a lot of traveling around Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the South Pacific. The rest of my teaching career was in the Northwest, Olympia, Shoreline, Seattle, and Tacoma. I spent 7 years in public schools and 21 years in private schools. I have been married for 43 years. My youngest daughter graduated from Seattle Art Institute with her BA in Interior Design and works in Houston. My son attended University of Arizona and WSU and works at a landscaping company in Mount Vernon. My first daughter from a previous marriage has 3 sons and 1 daughter. She is a nurse with Multi-Care in Tacoma. So, I am a grandpa 4 times over. After retiring from teaching I started a video production business in 2001. I produced family history music videos, transferred and edited old film to dvd. I fully retired in 2010 and started collecting my social security. My wife retired from a career in Investment Administration in August of 2013. We travel as much as we can during the year. We have been on big ship cruises to Northern Europe, Eastern Mediterranean, Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, Gulf of Mexico, and in 2018 we went on a 6...Expand for more
