Jerome's Story
When I left Mt. Carmel I got the call from the U.S. Army saying they wanted me to wear green and go to Southeast Asia, but my favorite color is blue and I joined the U.S. Navy instead and spent 18 months in Southeast Asia. I got married in 1966, but it didn't work out it ended in 1976. I spent about four years working as a plumber around Denver. In 1974, I decided to go back in the Navy, because new homes were not being built, I went into the SEABEES (Consruction) and after spending time Island hopping and installing plumbing in new buildings I got out 1978.
In late 1978, I got a job at Fort Carson as a plumber, 275 men and women lost their jobs to General Electric, so the Army found jobs outside of Colorado and ...Expand for more
the job I got was 15 miles North of Gore, Okla. It was a shock moving from Colo. Springs of about 134 thousand people to 500 in Gore. The area that I worked at was Lake Tenkiller, that was managed and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Enginners. I spent 8 years there until the goverment offered early retirements in 1996, so I decided it was time, I had 24 years of federal time.
I moved back to Northglenn, with my second wife (Kathy). I just completed taking college courses in General Office Assist and know I'm looking for work. Kathy and I have been married for 23 years and we haven't had any rug-rats.
My wife and I like to go to craft shows which means we have crafts to sell.
I just ran out of time......Jerome
