Mr. Vivona is a graduate of the Commercial Theater InstituteÂs producing workshop in NYC. He was recently nominated as Best Director for his award winning production of West Side Story in North Carolina. Prior to that he wrote, directed, and choreographed the World Premiere productions of: An American Canteen in Paris and Spotlight Broadway, presented by Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment and Celebrity Cruise Lines. Mr. Vivona choreographed the Broadway.com commercials that aired during the 2002, 2003, and 2004 Tony Awards broadcasts. Mr. Vivona also lists among his credits highly acclaimed productions of: Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, Sweet Charity, Footloose and How To Succeed... among others. Off-Broadway he choreographed: TallulahÂs Party, In Celebration of Life 6 and a featured piece for Wall to Wall Loessor. He also Conceived, Produced, Directed and Choreographed the off-Broadway production of Just Feet From Broadway.
He is Founder and Producing Director of Stage Five Productions, LLC. With his wife Michelle, an accomplished Broadway...Expand for more
actress and dancer, he owns and operates a Drama Kids International Franchise that trains Long IslandÂs up-and-coming theater talents. He has adjudicated extensively nationwide and teaches master classes both in NYC and throughout the country. He has served as Adjunct Professor of Musical Theater Dance at Nassau Community College.
His Broadway and Tour Credits include: Seussical (original cast), Kiss Me, Kate (recent Broadway revival original cast), Dream (Dance Supervisor, Assistant to Wayne Cilento), How To Succeed... (Assistant to Wayne Cilento), Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, and Jerome Robbins Broadway. Film credits include The Stepford Wives starring Nicole Kidman, Glenn Close, Bette Midler, Matthew Broderick and Christopher Walken, and Everyone Says I Love You starring Julia Roberts and Goldie Hawn. TV credits include The Today Show, David Letterman, Rosie OÂDonnell, The Tony Awards and The Kennedy Center Honors.
Michael is married to a wonderfully talented actress, Michelle OÂSteen, and they have two beautiful children: Michaela and Thomas. They make their home on Long Island.
