Jerry's Story
After leaving Monahans in 1970, I went to Texas Tech for 6 1/2 years - 1st a double major in Spanish literature and anthropology, then Master's training in achaeology and anthropological linguistics. Following graduate school (and a failed marriage of 4 yaers), I worked inthe oilfield for 2 years for an oilfield supply company. I was finally offered a job in OKC (for an engineering and environmental firm called the Benham Group as an archaelogical laboratory supervisor on a multi-year project and took it. It and other projects lasted several years until federal monies started drying up. I migrated toward others areas of environmental science application over the next 5 or 6 years. I was remarried in 1984 and have been married for 26 years now. My wife is trained as a biologist/geologist, but now works mainly with in...Expand for more
formation technology applied to databases for the local electric public utility company. We have no children but several dogs. We both still mainly work (although I consult part-time) and enjoy yard work, dog obediance training, watching movies and , of course listening to classic rock and roll (I have a rather extensive collection).
Both of my parents are still alive and live in Malakoff, Texas. We visit them as often as we can. I have mixed memories about Monahans High School. Most are rather interesting (I won't mention any here) since I tended to enjoy a number of after school activities. I hope that all my classmates and school mates have had healthy and enjoyable lifes. I know that is easier said than done! Any of you who want to drop me a note and hash over some of our seedier memories, I promise to answer it!
