Jerry's Story
Hello everyone...here is the scoop on my life
I did a lot of dope after high school(and before school, and during school etc). Had my first son Jeremy with a girl from Sacramento in 1986. he is now serving in Afghanistan in the army for his second tour there. Took some College classes in the late 80s, majored in Architecture. Dropped out in 89 when the unemployment rate for architects reached 40% in California.
Spent a lot of time in the mountains in northern california and lived in Berkeley for a while. Met a girl from San Pablo and got her pregnant the first time we ever did it. She had my first daughter in 1993. We decided that raising a kid in the Bay Area wasnt a good thing, as there was gunfire every night where I lived in Berkeley.
We moved to Kingman Arizona in December 1993 and quit the dope when we left California.
I worked in a cabinet factory when we got to Arizona. A year later we had another child (Jeremiah). I got married in June 1995 in Bullhead City, Arizona on an island in the Colorado River. We bought our first place in Kingman soon after that. (We now own 8 homes in Kingman, most of which we rent out).
In October of 1999 we had another daughter (Hannah). I continued to work at the cabinet factory for 12 1/2 years and finally quit so I could work on my rentals.
...Expand for more
In August 2007 we had another daughter (Olivia). The wife almost died from complications while giving birth and they were in the hospital for a couple of weeks. They are both fine now thank God.
I went back to work after that. I am now in the Industrial Construction Industry and travel around the US building Power Plants and refineries.
I just bought a house in Missouri this year and we will be moving in July 2009. It will be nice to get out of the desert and into the country.
I like to go camping, fishing and hunting. One of my hobbies is going to Rendezvous. We reenact the Fur Trade Era 1760-1840. when we go all of our gear, guns, clothing, tents and teepee's, cookware etc. is what the mountain men would have had during that time frame. My family and I really enjoy that. It's like stepping back in time 200 years. We shoot muzzleloaders, have tomahawk and knife throwing competitions, primative archery contests, and camp primative.
When I get out to Missouri, I will be looking for a larger piece of property in the mountains (100 acres or more) with natural springs and a creek or river frontage. There I will plant lots of fruit and nut trees, grow a huge garden, raise chickens and a few cows.
Well, thats pretty much my life in a nutshell. 30 years went by quick. Thanks for reading.
