Jerry's Story
After high school, I successfully completed the "Jerry Hendrix Five-Year College Plan" with an Associate's degree from San Antonio Community College and a Bachelor's Degree from North Texas State University.
After college I decided I'd skip my first million dollars as well as my first two marriages and embarked on a multi-city, multi-career path that took me to Dallas, Arlington, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and finally to Austin.
I came to Austin in January of 1991 on a 90-contract with the City and never got around to leaving. I eventually married Tracey and we have two wonderful boys.
JB is nine, making all A's in school, playing basketball, is a level two black belt in TaeKwonDo, and very active in Scouts.

pack for another five years.
In the summer of 2007, I found myself comfortably coasting to retirement with the City of Austin as the Public Information and Marketing Manager for the City's Solid Waste Department when I was offered the opportunity to be the City of Kyle's first ever Director of Communications. Kyle is the fifth fastest growing city in Texas and everything here is growing very rapidly. I am building an entire city department from scratch while contributing to the rest of our team while we build this city. The best career move I've ever made.
We still live in Southwest Austin as Kyle is just a short trip down the highway.
I think of my time at Judson often and wonder where my old friends are and what they are doing. I hope you are all well and maybe we will have the opportunity of run into each other at some point.
