Jerry's Story
(April 2010) I married my high school sweetheart, Janice Bailey, shortly after high school. I went to Pharmacy School at UGA. My first pharmacist job was at the old Button Gwinnett Hospital after graduating and then The Prescription Shop. We had two amazing children, Jerome and Jennifer. Next I went to work for Eli Lilly as a sales rep based in Gainesville. Then I joined the San Francisco biotech start-up Genentech, Inc. based out of Birmingham. Janice went back to school and graduated from UAB. We moved back to Gainesville and Janice started teaching middle then high school and I advanced my career at Genentech.
I've held many position of increasing responsibility at Genentech and I'm currently the Region Sales Director. I spent almost 4 years in San Francisco based positions.

ey and has a son, Roy Jerome Johnson, III., known as "Tripp" and a vivacious daughter Reagan. They live in Mt. Pleasant/Charleston, S.C.
Our daughter Jenny graduated from Georgia Tech with a Masters in Civil Engineering. She and is married to Eli Weger. They have a son, Crawford. and live in Philadelphia, PA.
Janice is retired from teaching and I will be joining her at the end of next month, June 2017.
We've been very blessed and have had the opportunity to travel extensively abroad including almost every country in Europe, Scandinavia, and as far as Istanbul, Turkey.
I have an older sister, Julia ('72), and 4 younger brothers that also graduated from Central Gwinnett; Michael ('74?), Kevin ('77?), Nick ('80?), and Chris ('83?)
