Jerry's Story
Over 35 years of marketing, communication, and advancement work in the world of nonprofit Christian humanitarian work.
Married since 1976 to Carolyn (formerly, Carolyn Baker of Northridge, CA). We have one beautiful daughter, a terrific son-in-law, and two amazing grandsons, Arie and Alan.
Much of my work was global in nature with great organizations like World Vision, International Aid, and Open Doors. For a time, I also worked downtown LA on Skid Row with homeless men, women, and children, then over ten years for Foothill Christian School, Glendora and some adjunct teaching at Azusa Paci...Expand for more
fic University. In 2019, I began working with HEART (Health Education Africa Response Team) helping HIV-positive mothers and their dependents throughout Kenya.
Around the age of seven, my Dad encouraged me to play the guitar, which I've been doing ever since. I love that instrument and cradle it daily. I volunteer for a couple of nonprofit charities and love being "Papa" to two growing little guys.
It's a blast staying connected with school friends and in May 2022, I was among many other classmates who came from near and far to attend our All-Class Reunion, hosted by the Class of '70!
