Jerry's Story
Attended Lenoir-Rhyne Univ. in NC. Played soccer & performed as the mascot (Joe Bear) for football & basketball games. After college attended Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC. Master of Divinity in 1988. Served as pastor at churches in Wilmington, NC, Greensboro, NC, & New Port Richey, FL from 1988 to 2014. mpa). Moved back to OP in 2014 to serve as Lead Pastor at Advent Lutheran Church (near the entrance to OP Country Club) my home church during H.S. Lost Carol on Nov 3, 2016 after she battled stage 4 cancer for 29 months. Now just moving forward as a single dad and pastor of a wonderful congregation. Family moved to Texas 3 weeks after H.S. graduation in ‘80 so I lost track of many friends from OP. Would love to reconnect now that I am back in town.
