Jerry's Story
Life
I have been married to Martha since August 1977. We have five children: Abigail married in May 2004 and gave us our first grandchild, a boy, in August 2009, and another grandchild, a girl, in August 2012, another grandchild, a boy, in May 2015; Gabriel is still in the Army Reserves (he had served in Iraq most of 2004 and spent a month in Korea in 2005 and 2006) while also working for a local high-tech company; Melody married in April 2007 and gave us another grandchild, a girl, July 2011; Daniel is working various jobs, including FedEx Ground, while continuing his education; Joseph graduated from a local culinary college and is now working in a bakery as well...Expand for more
as taking up a sort of hobby farming. I continue to work as pastor of the Portland Area Seventh Day BAPTIST Church (since January 1990) in Portland, OR, but no longer work for FedEx Ground due to back issues. Martha provides nursery/childcare on different days of the week at a local church as well as doing housecleaning for others. Since all of our children are now on their own, Martha and I have "downsized" a bit. In August 2017 we purchased a house in Woodburn, Oregon, and are once again homeowners, which we much prefer. The house was in the perfect spot for us to get the best view of the solar eclipse when it happened, which was also on our anniversary day.
