Jerry's Story

Well lets get this over with shall we? I left Greenfield in 68 to go to college in Texas and didn't do too good there. So came back to Greenfield for awhile and did't feel that good there. So I moved to Merced, Ca. and started college there and eventually became a business owner and cattle rancher in Clovis, Ca. I was married twice to two Ca. women and have two children (a son and daughter) with the first wife and one a daughter) with the second. Someone out there will remember my car accident in 67 when I was dating Kathy Ward, well Kathy and I got back together in 1998 and were married on the Island of Kauai on 01,01,2001 (I picked the date, easy to remember) and we have a beautiful daughter born Aug. 18 1968 named Kathy (often called Jr.) whom I first met in 1998. Kathy and I live on the south side of Anderson, In. approximately 3/4 mile north of I-69. Together we have 9 children 6 beautiful girls and 3 hunks for sons, we also have two grandsons and one granddaughter, all of whom we love to spoil. Need to make some updates here, we now have three grand daughters and two grand sons, two beautiful daughters in law and what I consider four sons in law. We are very proud of all the kids and our grand kids. There isn't really much we have to wish for except for financial stability for all. And that the grand kids were closer. Kathy and I both are avid and devoted readers of anything and everything, we love to travel, and are both certified PADI divers. I still love the out of doors, anything to do with nature and riding a bicycle when ever possible, would love to have another motorcycle, but can't have everything. I still fool around with anything and everything I can get my hands on long enough to dismantle and rebuild or just...Expand for more
plain build. We are very proud of our children and grandkids, just wish we all lived in the same part of the country. Well, that should bore anyone reading this to tears so I'll leave it at that. OK, this is a little bit more about myself and how Kathy and I got back together. In 1997 my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer and given possibly one year but more likely 6 months. I decided that I should come back to Greenfield and help out with her care if possible. I moved back in Oct. '97 and after a week of gathering my courage began applying for work. I got hired by Ameritech Telephone company and began training in Indianapolis on Feb 02, 98' and then Chicago was my next stop and was my locale when Mom passed on, just before our birthdays. Then came my work in Indy and boredome with lousy dating experiences. I placed an ad in the Greenfield Reporter in May 98' to try and find Kathy and a few days later we were reunited. We have not been separated since except for a vacation or two. Approximately 3 months after we got back together, Kathy asked me to drive to Fort Wayne with her to see someone, that was the day I met what I think is on of the most beautiful young ladies I have ever met; Our (Kathy and I's) daughter Kathy, and I have been often caught speechless and staring at her in wonder ever since. I have become what I consider one of the luckiest people ever, by being accepted into a fantastic and loving extended family of young men and women, whom I can only praise and thank for the opportunity they have extended to me and my family. And I thank the powers that be for the chance to combine our kids and for the incredible experience of witnessing the acceptance and joining of our two families. I have been blessed!
