Jess's Story

Hey Gang, I hope everything is going well with everyone. I myself, am doing fine. Well where do I start. After high school I went to good ol' Gav Tech for two years, played a little football. We won our championship in 1986. I am also one of the 35 yr. reunion members that celebrate for Gavilan winning there National Title in 1973. After being undecided about what to with my life I decided to go into the Army. There I became what I thought was one of the coolest jobs to do. I was a helicopter crewchief mechanic. I was second in my class out of twelve. My Army career started in New Jersey for basic training. There I went on to Virginia for my advanced training. I ended up in Texas were my short career in the service ended (86'to 90'). Along the way I earned numerous awards and badges. One of the coolest parts was when the movie "Firebirds" was made. It was shot out of our unit. It starred Nicholas Cage, Tommy Lee Jones, and Sean Young (I tried to get a part as an extra) but to no avail. Upon my release date of the Army at the time I was a Specialist 4 occupying a Staff Seargent slot as an assistant phase leader. Thats where the helicopters come in for a major overhaul ( every 250 hrs.). I also got some stick time at flying these helicopters, but only simulation. When I was being recruited to re-up I wanted to be at least a Staff Seargent occupying a Seargent First Class position because we were so under staff. So after weeks of negotiations it did not work out, so I left and got out as a seargent. But, of course one year later I was called back for the first gulf war in Saudia Arabia (1991). I had to return to my unit in Texas and wait to see if we were going to deploy. It never happened. U...Expand for more
pon my return I was married to my first wife Stacey(10yrs). We divorced in 1998, but still remain friends. We have two beautiful kids, my son Taylor (15) and he is a junior at Live Oak High. He is excelling very well there. He has been a scholar athlete his last two years, and I am so proud of him. He is my stud. His sports are football and track. My long legged gorgeous daughter is Kendyl (12) and is in 8th at Solarsono. She is the love of my life. She is very smart, athletic (cheerleading) for about 8yrs. with the Gilroy Browns. She is kind ,sweet, and very caring. I am remarried to my wife now, Inga. She is from San Jose (Santa Therea High 84'). We have been married now for 8yrs. (Sept. 9). We have no children together. She is a very good mother to my kids, and is very loving to them. We live in Hollister, where I split time with the kids with Stacey who lives in Gilroy. My wife works for the City of Gilroy as a Purchasing Coordinator. I work for Santa Clara County and have been there for about 18years. I am currently in a transition stage where I am getting out of one position in the Road Department to take on another task in the department. Right now I am in charge of our inventory at one of our facilities at South County in San Martin where I work. The county is trying to open a position to centralize our other two yards in San Jose along with our South Yard Divsion where I am at. If that happens I will be supervising that part of the county. It is going to be challenging, but exciting and I am up for it. Well I guess thats it for now. Life is good and I have my health and my life is full with adventure with my family. Everyone who reads this, take care and hope to here from you soon.
