Jessica's Story

Life After getting my degree in Broadcast Production at ISU ('00), I took off globe trotting. I lived in Minneapolis for a year and later married Tim Paschke (MS '96)in March of 2002 in Park Ridge, assuming the scary (and exhausting!)position of "military wife". Whoa, what an adventure. Tim began pilot training for the Air Force and because of that we have lived in: Valdosta, Georgia; Corpus Christi, TX; (I got to work as an Interior Designer and I LOVED it) Little Rock, AR; Albuerque, NM, and now England, just outside of Cambridge in a town called Ely. It is a much anticipated assignment of 3 years. Soon after we got here, one of the cars we bought was a red Mini Cooper. I LOVE it and get to drive it most of the week. We have an insane yellow lab named Merlin who is a total hooligan but always keeps us entertained. As well as an adorable boxer puppy, Bella. Due to our short stays in each city and now a foreign country I haven't had much chance to work, which makes me sad but I am getting a lot in exchange for it. We like to hang out with our military friends for barbeques, squadron get togethers, and long weekend trips to fun European cities (Paris; Brussels; London; York; Prague; Dublin; Cork; Waterford; Cardiff; Venice...). We are both big movie buffs and catch one pretty often, though it is a 30 minute drive to get there. Tim is a pilot and is flying the MC-130P, a special ops cargo plane. It makes several types of drops--food, supplies, men, and also in-flight helicopter refueling. He is deployable but lucky for me he hasn't been gone for longer than 2 months yet. It is looking like he will be in the desert this fall. I am very proud of Tim, please keep him and his safety in all of your prayers. ...Expand for more
