Jill Tesdal:  

Life After High school I got my first job as a file clerk in the Portland Credit Union. Doug Tesdal both attended Franklin and dated in High School. We got married in 1969 and been happily married since. Doug was in the Navy when we married so our first home was Honolulu Hawaii. I worked for the credit union in Hawaii but when Doug got discharged from the Navy we returned to Portland where I decided to go to work for Ma Bell. I was an operator in Portland and Eugene Oregon while Doug attended the U of O. Go Ducks! We moved to Athena Oregon where Doug got his first teaching job and I took time out to have two children. We moved to Vernonia, Oregon where Doug taught Art for 28 years and I went to work for GTE again as a Operator, then repair representative and finally a dispatcher. GTE went through cut backs and I took the lay off in the early 90's. I attended a computer school and worked as temp before getting a job at Intel. I am now an Administrative Assistant for Intel and hope to retire in about three years. Doug retired from teaching a couple of years ago but continues to substitute and works part time at other jobs.
