Jill's Story

Wow has it really been 36 years since we graduated high school? My how the years have flown. After graduating from high school I attended cosmetology school and started a career that has lasted 36 years. I left Indiana in 1982 and moved to Hilton Head Island where I worked on the harbour for 3 years meeting some amazing people. I then was given an opportunity to visit Atlanta GA to manage a salon where I eventually moved and lived for the next 5 years. This is where I met and married the love of my life, my best friend for 25 years now. We relocated with his job to Punta Gorda Fl, then to Lexington KY, where we have lived for 18 years, I have three wonderful sons. Richard Hampton 34, served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps, attended Eastern KY University and now works as a computer security analysist for Humana Health Care in Louisville. He has a son 16 (my granson is driving this year). George Wild is 29 years old. He enlisted in the United States Airforce after graduating high school. He is in aerospace physyology. Has delpoyed 6 times and serves proudly. He married a wonderful girl, also in the USAF. They have been married 5 years and have just found out they ae expecting their first child in May of 2012. They currently resided in Yuba City Ca. Then after remarrying we had Adam. He was 22 this year, Adam is still trying to deci...Expand for more
de this path. He is currently working as an apprentice electrician and desires to attend lineman school in Atlanta in January. My husband, Joe, what can I say? He is the most wonderful, kind, compassionate, loving man I have ever known. I was blessed the day I met him. He is my life. My father and sister, still live in Anderson Indiana. My mother died 3 years ago with leukemia. And my last grandparent died last year at the age of 105. I have been blessed with a wonderful family, lots of wonderful friends, and a wonderful God, who has watched over us for so many years. Without our faith I'm not sure where life would have taken us. Now that the kids have grown and the grandkids are coming, we plan to enjoy the years we have left together and cherish the moments and not fret about the small things, The older I get, the more I wish I had understood Gods plan for us years ago, things would have made sense then. Funny how we get to where we are in life. The paths we choose and where they led us! Regrets: Only one: I have not stayed in touch with any of my friends since I graduated. I was too busy trying to "get on" with my life. I miss that connection now! I never attended the class reunions as I was "too busy" getting on with my life, I would love to hear from anyone from the graduating class of 1975. Sincerely, Jill Dennison Duncan
