Jill's Story
My, this is crazy! Fourty years since we said "Go Spartans!" I have been fortunate enough to remain friends with Linda Leitstein Mango who talks about this coming and every other reunion constantly with excitement...our Homecoming Queen she still is! And we both get together with our other dear friends, Jeannette Samaha Aiken and Barbe Brennan Wappel as often as possible. It's been a true pleasure to live in Belmar close to the beautiful sea for the past thirty years. My husband, Vincent (our dear classmate Robbie 's older brother), and I renovated an old Victorian house and were blessed with three children to keep it full of fun and wonderful memories. I have been working as a pediatric nurse at Jersey Shore University Medical Center for the past 21 years which has been an enriching and challenging career. ll after 38 years. Needless to say, it's not easy living with a retired husband! Our children have relocated to the West Coast. Our oldest son and our daughter-in-law live north of San Diego with our new grandson, Koa Vincent. Our daughter also lives north of San Diego where she teaches yoga and loves life. Our other son lives in Maui where he works and surfs...all incredible places to visit, but far from home. So, we are trying to find a way to live on both coasts (how spoiled are we?) as we recently placed our home for sale. Anyone interested? But I will be certain to attend our 40th reunion...thanks to Tom Bird for the planning efforts. I'll need to lose weight, dye my hair, get a Spank, trim my chin hairs, shave my legs, get a tan, buy a new outfit, leave Vincent at home, find a ride home, and be there (if I can remember the date, the time, and the place!).
